Obstetrics - Gestational Diabetes Screening

This is a required screening test done during the 24th - 28th week of pregnancy. This test is done to rule out Gestational Diabetes. We will explain how to do this test the visit prior to when it is due.

Pregnancy changes the way insulin works. Gestational Diabetes affects 2% - 10% of all pregnancies. Once your test is complete and if the level is high, additional tests are done to find out if you have Gestational Diabetes.

Please refer to ACOG Diabetes and pregnancy for more information.
